Ordination of Fr Niall Coll as Bishop of Ossory

Archbishop of Dublin, Dermot Farrell was the chief celebrant of the liturgy in St Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny on Sunday 22nd January,  during which Fr Niall Coll a native of Donegal and priest of Raphoe Diocese was consecrated as the new Bishop of Ossory.  Archbishop Farrell was assisted  by Co-Consecrators Bishop Denis Nulty, Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin and outgoing Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Ossory, and Bishop Alan McGuckian SJ, Bishop of Raphoe.

Speaking afterwards Bishop Coll said “As we look to the future, we know that we will face many challenges together. We find courage for the work that lies ahead because Christ Jesus is truly the way, the truth and the life. He is our hope. Amen.
