Agnes Forrest (née Burns)

Ashbourne House, Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny and late of Moneygold, Grange, Co.Sligo

Who died on Monday, 15th September 2025 Aged 95 years.

Predeceased by her parents Michael James and Mary, brothers John, Roger and Michael James, sister Margaret.

Agnes will be reposing in Power’s Funeral Home, Ferrybank, on Thursday, 18th September, from 4.30pm followed by removal at 6.30pm, to Church of The Assumption, Slieverue, Agnes’s Requiem Mass will take place on Friday 19th at 10am after which Agnes will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery

Reflection

In an era marked by strong currents of secularisation, materialism and individualism, when many people have pushed God to the margins of life, if they haven’t forgotten about Him entirely, Christians can be tempted to lose hope and retreat into a holy huddle... In the midst of such rapid change, some may be tempted to lose heart.
