Ned (Eddie) O’Callaghan

The Orchard, Ferrybank, Waterford and late of Pruntus, Ballyhea, Co. Cork

who died on Saturday 16th May 2026 aged 90 Years.

Predeceased by his son Ger, parents Charles and Kathleen, brothers Charles, Michael, Liam and Jerry.

Ned will be reposing in Power’s Funeral Home Ferrybank on Monday 18th May, from 5.30pm until 7pm, Ned’s removal will take place on Tuesday 19th May to The Sacred Heart Church, Ferrybank, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, after which Ned will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.

Reflection

In an era marked by strong currents of secularisation, materialism and individualism, when many people have pushed God to the margins of life, if they haven’t forgotten about Him entirely, Christians can be tempted to lose hope and retreat into a holy huddle...
